Márcio Lomiranda is from Belo Horizonte from Minas Gerais and started studying piano at the age of 5 in Divinópolis, MG where he lived for 16 years. He studied conducting and composition at UFMG, moving to Rio de Janeiro in 1979. From then on, he performed in shows and recordings as a musician and arranger with important names such as: Alceu Valença, Ney Matogrosso, Marina Lima, Gal Costa, Maria Bethânia, Cassia Eller, Zélia Duncan, Milton Nascimento, Sandra de Sá, Leila Pinheiro, Ivan Lins, Sandy and Jr. among others. In addition to his recording work, he also works as a composer and producer of scores for TV and cinema. He was part of TV Globo's team of music producers from 1997 until January 2023.
In 1993 he released his first work with Banda Rútila Máquina (Polygram). In 2001, a CD with his electronic project Eletro Fluminas (Manguenitude), in 2008 his first solo work, the CD VERDAZUL (Eletro Fluminas/Som Livre) and in March 2022 he released the album Eletroalma (Goptun) on digital platforms.
